Region 6 Tournament Watch: Kiefer Meinhardt Passed 1,100 Fencers, Nashville Added Spots, and Capitol Clash Still Has Room Everywhere
Wednesday, October 7, 2026 · Bout-Buddy Editorial
Region 6 has 11 tournaments with 32 events at 80% or higher, and 12 of them full, down from 15 a week ago because Peachtree and several AskFRED tournaments have now been fenced. Nashville Challenge RYC/RJCC in Murfreesboro, TN (Oct 17–18) raised its Junior Men's Saber cap from 14 to 28, so it has no full events this week. It is past its regular deadline, so any entry now is at USA Fencing's late fee.
The number to watch is Kiefer Meinhardt Cup SYC/RJCC/Y8 in Glen Allen, VA (Nov 14–15): 1,135 fencers entered, up from 949, with no published caps and a November 1 deadline.

On the national side, the December SJCC in Milwaukee (Dec 4–6) closes today, October 7, and the October NAC in Orlando (Oct 9–12) is in late registration until tomorrow, October 8, at USA Fencing's late fee.

Region 6's full fields this week are mostly AskFRED senior epee and youth epee events, and they fill weeks ahead. The big USA Fencing regionals are a different story: Kiefer Meinhardt grew by almost 200 fencers in a week, and we can't see how close its fields are to full, so don't wait for the November 1 deadline. Capitol Clash, Fairfax Challenge and The Southern all have plenty of room right now, and the December SJCC closes today.
