Region 6 Tournament Watch: Nashville Closes Monday, Peachtree Added Spots, and Capitol Clash Is Still Wide Open
Wednesday, September 30, 2026 · Bout-Buddy Editorial
Region 6 has 15 tournaments with 42 events at 80% or higher, and 15 of them full. Most of the full ones are AskFRED epee fields, and the big USA Fencing regionals here still have room. The one with a deadline this week is Nashville Challenge RYC/RJCC in Murfreesboro (Oct 17–18), which closes Monday, October 5 with 480 of 905 spots taken. Junior Men's Saber is already full, and Junior Men's Epee is down to 3 spots.
Peachtree RYC/RJCC in Suwanee (Oct 3–4) went the other way. It's in late registration now, and the caps went up, so three fields that were wait-list only last week have room again.

Late registration only (USA Fencing late fees, about 4×)
Peachtree RYC/RJCC (Suwanee, Oct 3–4): the regular deadline was September 21. Late registration runs until Friday, October 2. The caps went up since last week, so these fields have room again: Junior Men's Epee 53 of 56, Junior Men's Saber 45 of 49, and Y12 Men's Epee 35 of 42. Cadet Men's Epee is at 48 of 49 and Cadet Men's Saber 47 of 49.
On the national side, the December SJCC in Milwaukee (Dec 4–6) closes October 7, with 923 fencers entered. The October NAC is in Orlando (Oct 9–12), with late registration until October 8, and the November NAC's runs until November 19, both at USA Fencing's late fee of about four times the normal entry.
New opportunities: open now, with room
Capitol Clash SYC/RCC & Y8: Oxon Hill, MD · Jan 16–18, 2027 · closes Dec 14
933 of 3,266 spots, up from 567 a week ago, and room in every event. The fullest fields are Y12 Women's Epee at 56 of 119 and Y12 Men's Foil at 58 of 140. It's the mid-Atlantic's big January youth event, and it's the best open registration in the region.
Kiefer Meinhardt Cup SYC/RJCC/Y8: Glen Allen, VA · Nov 14–15 · closes Nov 1
949 fencers have entered. USA Fencing hasn't published caps, so we can't show fill percentages. With a month until the deadline, register now rather than find out later.
Battle At The Beach 5: Jacksonville, FL · Jan 29–31, 2027 · closes Jan 4, 2027
66 events and 32 fencers so far. Caps aren't published yet.

Region 6 is two regions in one. The local AskFRED fields fill fast: 11 of the epee and foil fields in the table above are full, some of them weeks before their events. The big USA Fencing regionals still have room. Nashville is just over half full with a Monday deadline, Capitol Clash has space in every event, and Battle At The Beach has barely started. If your fencer wants Nashville, register this week. For January, Capitol Clash is the one to lock in now.
