Region 3 Tournament Watch: Morris Cup Raised Its Caps, Pizza Has Five Fields Down to Three Spots or Fewer, and Ultimate Cup Closes Monday

Region 3 has 8 tournaments with 76 events at 80% or higher, and 34 of them full, down from 46 a week ago. Two things explain the drop. Ben Gutenberg (11 full events) has been fenced, and Morris Cup RYC/RJCC in Suffern, NY raised its caps in seven fields that were full last week. Morris Cup is now in late registration, so those new spots cost USA Fencing's late fee.
Pizza RYC/RJCC in New Haven (Nov 14–15) is the one to watch: 10 full events, five more at three spots or fewer, and a regular deadline of October 23. Ultimate Cup RJCC in Hillsborough Township, NJ closes Monday, October 12, and still has room in every field.

Morris Cup RYC/RJCC (Suffern, Oct 24–25): the regular deadline passed on October 5, and late registration at USA Fencing's late fee runs until October 22. Caps went up in seven fields that were full last week, and all seven have room again: Cadet Men's Epee (2 left), Junior Women's Foil (3), Cadet Women's Foil (5), Cadet Men's Foil, Y14 Men's Epee and Y14 Men's Saber (6 each), and Y10 Men's Saber (7).
On the national side, the December SJCC in Milwaukee (Dec 4–6) closes today, October 7, and the October and November NACs are in late registration until October 8 and November 19, at USA Fencing's late fee.

Pizza is the next one to fill: it gained three full events this week and has five more fields at three spots or fewer, with more than two weeks to go before its deadline. If New Haven is on your calendar, register now. Ultimate Cup closes Monday with room in every field, and for winter, Chamley-Watson, Neil Lazar and American Challenge are wide open.
