Region 1 Tournament Watch: Rain City's Fall RJCC Closes Friday With One Field Left, and the Spring SYC Opens October 29

Region 1 has 7 tournaments with 54 events at 80% or higher, and 43 of them full, up from 37 a week ago. Rain City Fall RJCC+Div II ROC in Bellevue (Oct 16–18) closes this Friday, October 2, with 17 of its 18 tracked events on the wait-list. Junior Women's Epee is the last one, with 4 spots left.
Seven more Pacific Northwest fields went to wait-list this week, from Division II Men's Foil at Emerald City ROC to Youth 14 Men's Foil at Salle Auriol's January RYC. Small caps close fast here, so the time to register is when a tournament opens. The next one opens October 29.

On the national side, the December SJCC in Milwaukee (Dec 4–6) closes October 7, with 923 fencers entered. The October and November NACs are past their regular deadlines. Late registration runs until October 8 and November 19, at USA Fencing's late fee of about four times the normal entry.

Every tracked field is full, but the women's epee and saber events still have room: Cadet Women's Epee is at 13 of 28, Junior Women's Epee 14 of 28, Junior Women's Saber 10 of 28, and Cadet Women's Saber 7 of 28. If your fencer is in one of those four, there is no reason to wait.

Region 1's fall is almost spoken for. Rain City's October RJCC is one field from sold out, and registration closes Friday. Portland's fall RYC and Rain City's November RYC are down to single spots, and Salle Auriol's December RJCC filled every tracked field three months early. What's left: four women's epee and saber fields at Salle Auriol in December, a handful of new AskFRED events, and the Rain City SYC on October 29. Put that date on the calendar now.
